Statement Government can play a very positive role in our society by protecting and preserving people's rights to act and behave in any peaceful, honest manner they choose. This is the meaning of limited government, a government whose policy is to protect freedom, not grant freedom. My purpose and goal in Congress, if I am elected, will be to limit all Congressional powers to those specifically enumerated in the Constitution of the United States. As Thomas Jefferson said, that government which governs least, governs best. |
