Don't be confused when you FTP the actual FileMaker Pro 3.0 files.
A Libertarian logo was added to all of the layouts after these Web
pages were prepared. A button was added to facilitate opening the
List file from the Measures file and vice versa.
FileMaker Pro SDK 3.0 will bind FileMaker Pro files to a runtime
engines that will run on any of the aforementioned computers, so you
need not purchase File Maker Pro to use this solution. Unfortunately,
SDK costs $1,499. According to MacWarehouse, FileMaker Pro 3.0 costs
$200, or $100 for an upgrade from previous versions of FileMaker or
from a competing product (FoxPro, 4th Dimension, Panorama, Act). It
doesn't take may purchases or upgrades to exceed the SDK price.
Perhaps the National Libertarian Party will consider the price
worthwhile if it can distribute later versions of this solution for
free or for profit to its subsidiary organizations.
Such a distribution would help synchronize all Libertarian Party
organizations and avoid gobs of redundant and unnecessary work. State
organizations could process their Registrar of Voters data once for
distribution to their Regions so each Region doesn't have to contend
with the peculiar format of the data or its media. Regions could
readily distribute district subsets to their candidates for bulk
mailing purposes, etc.
